Sister Patricia A. Cruise, S.C.

Sister Tricia, a Sister of Charity, was elected President of Covenant House in May by the Board of Directors and began her tenure in September, 2003. For the previous eight years Sister served at the Red Cloud Indian School on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Between 1998 and 2003 she was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, with supervisory responsibility for three schools, 16 Catholic parishes, the Heritage Center Museum and an overall operating budget of $10 million. Prior to her appointment as COO she was the School’s Vice President of Institutional Advancement, and for an interim period in 1998, Acting President. Between 1991 and 1995 she worked with ENCOR, a religious employment service sponsored by 15 congregations of women religious, for three years of which she was Acting Director. Sister serves on the Boards of Directors of Saint Joseph’s Home of Cincinnati and the Corporation Board, Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati. She holds a BS in Education from Russell Sage College, and an MTS in Theology from the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, California.
